Winamp Rises from the Grave Again This July

Morrissey TechnologyWinamp, the legendary music player that was popular in the 1990s to early 2000s, has announced the presence of their new version. This latest version was launched with a fresher and more modern design, as well as more complete features.

Llama Group, formerly known as Radionomy and the current owner of Winamp, revealed that the new Winamp music platform is scheduled to launch on July 1, 2024. The company insists this is a new phase that brings a unique solution to the monetization challenges facing the music industry today. Llama Group will bring 50,000 artists to the platform by 2024 alone, with a long-term goal of bringing 1 million music creators to the platform over the next five years.

Winamp, which will be available this July, will be different from the 2023 version FOR4D. This time it will combine song player software, music streaming services and exclusive offers such as NFTs and merchandise.

Llama Group explains that there are three main products brought by the latest Winamp. Firstly, Winamp for Creators is designed specifically for music monetization. Then Winamp Collaborator facilitates the discovery of new creative and business partners for artists. And Winamp Player FOR4D promises a smooth music listening experience.

Llama Group promises to launch a new version of the classic Winamp desktop player. This application was stopped for five years until development officially resumed in 2018 with Winamp 5.8. The latest version of the app, Winamp 5.9.2, was released in April 2023, offering a powerful listening and music management experience, especially for those who don’t like streaming, as reported by Techspot
