Kemkomdigi dan AWS hadirkan kompetisi inovasi AI bagi siswa SMK

Kabupaten Bekasi – Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Kemkomdigi) bersama Amazon Web Service (AWS) sebagai pelaku industri awan komputasi di Indonesia menggelar kompetisi menampilkan keterampilan “cloud computing” menghasilkan inovasi kecerdasan artifisial (ArtificiaI Intelligence/AI) bagi para siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK).

Kegiatan yang menyasar SMK di kawasan industri seperti Kabupaten Bekasi dan Kota Karawang itu menggaet minat sekitar 30.000 peserta dan puncaknya mempertemukan lima tim di Balai Pelatihan dan Pengembangan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (BPPTIK) Cikarang, Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat, Rabu.

“[Kompetisi] ini kami apresiasi sekali karena ini adalah bagian dari upaya mempercepat transformasi digital di Indonesia yang merupakan salah dari target misi Astacita menuju Indonesia Emas 2045,” kata Menteri Komunikasi dan Digital Meutya Hafid membuka puncak kompetisi tersebut.

Meutya menyebutkan karya-karya yang dibawa dalam kompetisi ini terlihat menarik misalnya seperti solusi desain interior berbasis AI, lalu ada juga aplikasi yang menunjukkan destinasi wisata di Indonesia, hingga aplikasi bernama Story First yang membantu penggunanya bisa merasakan pengalaman membaca lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan.

Country Manager AWS Data Center Indonesia Winu Adiarto menyebutkan acara ini dihadirkan karena perusahaannya ingin merayakan setiap inovasi yang dikembangkan oleh talenta digital Indonesia.

Kompetisi yang dinamakan “Terampil di Awan” diharapkan menjadi bukti bahwa talenta-talenta digital di Indonesia dapat berkembang dan tidak tertinggal dalam menciptakan kreasi dan inovasi dari teknologi terkini.

“Jadi memang acaranya kompetisi tapi sebenarnya hari ini adalah hari untuk merayakan inovasi. Jadi teman-teman ini sudah dua bulan belajar mengenai generative AI dengan tools-tools dari AWS. Ini sebagai bukti bahwa bangsa Indonesia juga bisa mengembangkannya,” kata Winu. Harapannya meski kompetisi ini selesai, kolaborasi antar Kemkomdigi bersama AWS dapat terus terjalin di masa depan terutama untuk menciptakan talenta digital yang dibutuhkan untuk berkontribusi pada perekonomian bangsa.

Anjas Maradita pilih Galaxy S25 Series untuk membuat konten AI

Jakarta- Anjas Maradita, AI Expert sekaligus Content Creator dikenal aktif memanfaatkan teknologi kecerdasan artifisial (AI) untuk meningkatkan kreativitasnya dalam membuat konten.

Dengan Gemini Live, Anjas bisa menonton video panjang di YouTube dan meminta AI untuk merangkum informasi penting dari video tersebut, bahkan menanyakan lebih banyak detail terkait topik yang dibahas.

Selanjutnya, fitur Audio Eraser yang bisa mendeteksi hingga enam tipe suara seperti ucapan, musik, angin, alam, keramaian, dan kebisingan.

Menurut dia, fitur ini bisa menyesuaikan volume suara di setiap kategori untuk mendapatkan kualitas konten yang lebih bersih.

“Fungsi ini sudah built-in di Gallery tanpa aplikasi tambahan yang sering berbayar, jadi pengalamannya benar-benar seamless,” ujarnya.

Anjas menambahkan, fitur Generative Edit semakin mempermudah dalam mengedit foto dengan lebih lancar.

Galaxy S25 Series memungkinkan AI mendeteksi objek dan mengisi latar belakang secara lebih alami, membuat hasil editing semakin sempurna.

Selain itu, ia juga menggunakan Generative Edit untuk membuat karakter AI sehingga menghasilkan visual yang berbeda dan kreatif, sesuai dengan tren animasi yang tengah berkembang.

Kemudian, Anjas memanfaatkan AI Select untuk membuat GIF dari berbagai gambar atau video dalam konten yang sudah dibuat.

Fitur ini memungkinkannya untuk dengan cepat memilih frame dari video atau gambar dan mengubahnya menjadi GIF yang siap diunggah ke media sosial.

“AI Select memudahkan saya membuat GIF dari konten yang sudah saya buat. Jadi, saya bisa langsung membuat cuplikan menarik untuk promosi di Instagram Story atau platform lain dalam hitungan detik,” katanya.

Jakarta – Kepala Instagram Adam Mosseri membawa kabar menarik bagi para kreator konten di Instagram dengan menjanjikan fitur kecerdasan artifisial (AI) generatif yang dapat membantu kreator membuat video mereka lebih kreatif.

Fitur AI Meta tersebut adalah model AI Movie Gen Meta yang akan hadir sebagai fitur penyuntingan dan direncanakan rilis pada 2025.

“Kami ingin memberi pengguna lebih banyak alat untuk membantu mewujudkan ide-idenya. Dan pengguna harus dapat melakukan apa pun yang diinginkan dengan videonya. Apple debuted AI on the iPhone today. Here’s what to look out for

Apple Intelligence launched on Monday, but the rollout is just a glimpse of how Apple hopes to transform its products with artificial intelligence.

The tech giant unveiled initial features of Apple Intelligence — its suite of AI tools — on select devices with its latest software update for iPhones, iPads and Macs.

Apple’s AI features for iPhones will be available for free to users with any iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, who update to iOS 18.1. Apple Intelligence is also available for iPad and Mac models that support iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.

With Apple Intelligence, the company is implementing its first set of generative AI tools that aim to change how people use their iPhones and cement Apple’s stake in the AI race against competitors like Microsoft and Google. Generative AI is the technology that produces unique text and images in response to user-prompts — from obscure images to relentlessly catchy music.

The release of Apple Intelligence comes on the heels of the iPhone 16 release in September, which is equipped with chip hardware designed to support Apple’s AI-powered features.

A pivot to AI has been a focus for Apple since it first unveiled the suite of Apple Intelligence features at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Implementing new generative AI is at the forefront of Big Tech ambitions to maintain exponential growth, and after years of sluggish sales, Apple is betting on AI to boost its performance and reinvigorate its consumer base.

The AI features rolling out with iOS 18.1

The Apple Intelligence features rolling out Monday include improvements to writing and editing, Siri and the Photo app.

Apple Intelligence’s Writing Tools bring users improved proofreading, summarizing and editing features. Another focus of the release is Siri, which is supposed to become “more natural and conversational” with Apple Intelligence, and will appear as a glowing light when activated.

With the software update, Apple says the Photos app is “more intelligent,” with the ability to search for photos and videos by typing visual descriptions, like what someone was wearing. Users will also be able to edit photos and remove unwanted visual elements with another new feature called Clean Up.

Additionally, users will be able to record and transcribe calls, with Apple Intelligence providing a summary.

Apple Intelligence’s features most likely fit into the “nice to have” category rather than necessary features most new phone buyers actively seek, however.

Angelo Zino, a technology analyst at CFRA Research,  that “you need to wait for word of mouth to trickle through the consumer base over the next couple of quarters” before consumers will see the value of the new technology.

And Apple’s loyal customers or AI-curious consumers who were intrigued by images of Apple’s new AI-generated “Genmoji” may feel underwhelmed by this launch, as many new features, like Image Wand — which lets users turn sketches into AI-generated images — won’t be available until at least December, when iOS 18.2 debuts.

While the first set of Apple Intelligence features might leave some iPhone users wondering if that’s all there is to it, some analysts are bullish on Apple’s plan to implement AI across its products, largely thanks to the company’s large position in the market.

Dan Ives, a managing director and senior equity analyst at Wedbush Securities, said in a note Sunday that the rollout is the start of what will be an evolving process. “Consumer AI will go through Apple’s ecosystem with over 20% of the world’s population ultimately interacting with AI on an Apple device the next few years,” Ives said.

Apple is betting big on AI to boost its sales, and the rollout follows the iPhone 16 release, which didn’t initially sell as well as Apple may have hoped. Apple sold just an estimated 37 million units in the first weekend of iPhone 16 pre-sales, down more than 12% compared to the same period last year, according to a blog post from Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst with TF International Securities.

Additionally, Apple recently cut orders for iPhone 16s by about 10 million units through the end of 2024 and into 2025, according to another blog post by Kuo. That cut will result in less production of iPhones, he noted. According to Kuo, iPhone production for the fourth quarter of 2024 is now forecast at around 80 million, down year-over-year from 84 million.

Kuo noted that he did not think Apple Intelligence would immediately boost Apple’s prospects for better sales.

“Some market participants are optimistic that Apple Intelligence could dramatically boost iPhone shipments soon,” Kuo said in the blog post. “However, Apple’s recent order cuts suggest this optimistic expectation may not materialize in the short term.”

The first rollout of Apple Intelligence features are available on devices with language settings set to American English. The ability to use Apple Intelligence in other languages like French or Japanese will roll out in 2025.

Beware of AI Application Ads on Facebook, Accounts Can Be Stolen

Morrissey Technology – The trend of using artificial intelligence (AI) has been spreading in recent times. Not surprisingly, many technology companies promote their AI products through advertisements on social media. However, users also need to be careful and not carelessly click on AI application advertisements on social media, especially Facebook. The reason is, a fake ad on Facebook targets users looking for an AI image editing tool and steals their credentials by tricking them into installing a fake application that imitates the original software.

According to Bleeping Computer, hackers are exploiting the popularity of AI-based image creation tools by creating malicious websites that closely resemble the original service and tricking potential victims into infecting themselves with information-stealing malware. This was discovered by Trend Micro researchers who analyzed the ad.

The attack began with a phishing message sent to the Facebook page owner or admin, which would redirect them to a fake account protection page designed to trick them into providing login information. After stealing their credentials, the perpetrators hijacked the accounts, took control of their pages, published malicious social media posts, and promoted them through paid advertising.

“We discovered a malvertising campaign involving threat actors stealing social media pages (often related to photography), changing their names to appear connected to a popular AI photo editor,” said Trend Micro researcher Jaromir Horejsi.

“The threat actor then created a malicious post with a link to a fake website that was made to resemble a legitimate photo editor website. To increase traffic, the perpetrator then boosted the malicious post through paid advertising,” he continued.

Facebook users who click on the URL in the malicious ad will be sent to a fake web page masquerading as genuine AI photo editing and creation software, and will then be asked to download and install a software package. Instead of installing AI image editing software, victims installed an ITarian remote desktop tool that was configured to launch a downloader that automatically deployed the Lumma Stealer malware.

This malware then silently infiltrates their systems, allowing hackers to collect and compromise sensitive information such as credentials, cryptocurrency wallet files, browser data, and password manager databases. This data is then sold to other cybercriminals or used by attackers to break into victims’ online accounts, steal their money, and promote further fraud.

“Users should enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on all social media accounts to add an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access,” advises Horejsi.

“Organizations must educate their employees about the dangers of phishing attacks and how to recognize suspicious messages and links. Users should always verify the legitimacy of links, especially those that ask for personal information or login credentials,” he continued.
