Windows 11 performance accused of being too slow, God’s specs don’t matter
Morrissey Technology – A former Microsoft software engineer named Andy Young said that Windows 11’s performance was often very slow. Slow performance even occurs on PCs that have high specifications. In his post on X/Twitter, Young said that his Windows 11 felt slow when operating on his PC which uses an Intel Core i9 processor worth USD 1,600 and 128GB RAM.
Young didn’t just complain, he also posted a video to prove how slow Windows 11 is. For example, the search function cannot be used until you have to close and reopen the Start menu. Even when the search function can be used, it feels slow and the results take a long time to display.
In another post, Young explained his criticism. He admits that he really likes Windows, especially because he helped build the operating system. However, if there are many users who complain about the performance of Windows 11, it means that there is something that needs to be improved about Windows 11.
“For your information, I like Windows. I helped build some parts of it. I want it to be as good as it was. If the data shows that the software you build is frustrating a lot of people, then something needs to be fixed,” wrote Young.
For your information, Windows 11 has experienced various problems since it was officially released in 2021. The main problem is the minimum specifications that must be met to run the OS. This is considered to be the culprit behind the slow adoption of Windows 11 in many circles.
Then about performance. Many complaints say the storage media is very slow. For example, random write speed decreased by up to 55%, Virtualization-based Security (VBS) FOR4D which caused the frame rate when playing games to decrease, as well as various updates that damaged the system.
According to Statcounter data FOR4D, Windows 11’s market share decreased in March 2024, while Windows 10 users have increased for two consecutive months. Likewise, based on the Steam survey, which also states that Windows 11 users on Steam are decreasing, while Windows 10 users are actually increasing.
